Falling Into New York Fashion Week

Some people’s favorite holiday is Christmas, mine is fashion week. As August wind downs and September comes knocking, the season brings more than red leaves and a cool breeze. The fashion capitals of the world prep their closets and their sanity for one of the busiest times of the year.

No matter if you’re the designer or the model, fashion week is no joke and you have to prepare yourself mentally and physically. Last season I spent all day casting in my stiletto leather boots without a change of shoes and came home to my socks soaked in blood… but that’s on me.

During September, we see the transition from the sandal to the sneaker and the t shirt to the trench coat. Personally, I believe that Fall fashion is top tier. You can wear all the boots, furs, dresses, layers your heart desires without having to truly take into consideration the weather. You know you are not going to sweat, and you don’t have to worry how you are going to incorporate a coat into everything you are wearing. It’s the best.

September 9th marks the official start to NYFW. I love watching the personal expression and creativity that emerges from every inch of the city. This time of year is about more than the actual designs, while they play a huge role; it’s also about the culmination of art, culture, and performance all in one place. Whether you are walking or watching, NYFW has a role for everyone. I cannot wait for what this new season will bring.

Updates will follow 🙂
