Lady Liberty Has Lost Her Rights

Our lady of copper so mighty and tall

Might just be left with no rights at all

Standing proudly alone in the land that I love

She dawns only green and watches from above

Presiding over our battles we fought gun to gun

She’s watched all the struggles demanding wrongs be undone

But now the broken shackle lies restless at her feet

Powered by the voices of our nation willing lock and key to meet

A woman so powerful who seems to conquer all

Even she does not need a strong force to make her fall

In hallways where laws are intended to bind

A creeping doubt begins to whisper that a change will be unkind

A woman of no words, her voice not yet spoken

But to her our pledge of allegiance we have broken

The women of our country sit solemnly in fear

But her enduring reflection does not shed a tear

She knows that she is more than what their eye can see

For within her strength I see you and I see me

Her stance is unchanged through the mornings and nights

Yet still Lady Liberty fears she has lost her rights
